Sunday 16th February 2014 – Pete T’s Flood spotting trek
Pete T embarked alone on a beautiful sunny day following the weeks of rain, we had had 30mm in the previous 24 hours!! So it was a tour around the perimeter of Dorchester, viewing the floods.
Surprisingly the Frome was 15 inches lower than it had been a week before, but areas that previously been clear were now flooded. The bridle way across the Frome at Charminster was too deep to consider, so a diversion up to Stratton, and use the bridge there was necessary.
The sun and the water made some really good views, its just so sad that so many people have been so badly affected.
No punctures, No breakdowns, just great cycling
The pictures tell the tale
