Czech Republic – 2007
The first ever summer tour for cycledorset. With planning ably assisted by Hana Vencelidesova and friends, Thompson airways transported hybrid bikes from Bournemouth to Prague with just a few strips of insulation piping for protection.
Three days and nights spent with Hana and her dad in Zdar nad Sazavou, plus a feast at Polnicka, gave Tom and Lindsay the chance to sample the off-road trails and country lanes of Vysocina, accompanied by Eva’s cousin/
An accompanied ride into the highlands and on to Chrudim for two days, used as a base for rides around Sec and Pardubice. Finally a train ride on old rolling stock into Prague, bikes left at the airport, gave two days of on-foot tourism of Praha, and a thunderstorm to finish the tour of. Great week!
